Is it possible to detect a missing bolt ? Yes!

AIVisualMRO is an advanced AI platform designed to help inspectors complete visual inspections more efficiently and consistently. This one is a landing gear of a Avro Vulcan B2 airplane in the RAF museum, so don't worry about the missing bolt. It is just for demo purposes.

Managed to take a video and train a AI model (computer vision model) to detect a missing bolt on an assembly such as this, within a few days. I also added a Audio notification once the detected missing bolt is in view. This acts as a quick DEMO to understand what is possible in a short time. The taining of the ai model was done on the images of missing Bolt (negative space - the hole) rather then actually trying to detect the bolt and then detecting that it is not there.

Some disclaimers: I took this personal footage of this landing gear while visiting the museum and had the idea to see if I can train the AI on the missing bold. It turns out you can ! but in order to improve, to account for all other scenarios, the AI model would need to be trained on more data(photos and videos) accounting for different lighting conditions.
